Cocolocal Tour (also known as Cocolocal Farm) runs cooking classes and countryside experiences in Hoi An, Vietnam. This page explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain, the same way we like our cooking.

What we collect

• Booking details you give us on this website, by WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook or email: your name, email address, phone number, hotel or pickup address, tour, date, number of guests and any dietary needs or allergies you tell us about.
• Messages you send us on WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook.
• Website usage data collected by cookies and similar tools, such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location (see “Cookies” below).
• Photos and videos taken during your class (see “Photos during your class” below).

If you book through a travel platform (such as Tripadvisor, Viator, GetYourGuide or Klook), that platform shares your booking details with us so we can run your tour. Their own privacy policies also apply.

How we use it

• To confirm and run your booking, arrange hotel pickup, and prepare for dietary needs or allergies.
• To answer your questions and send you practical updates (for example pickup time or weather changes).
• To send you a thank-you message and ask for a review after your class. You can tell us to stop at any time.
• To improve our website and experiences.
• For advertising: we may share your email address or phone number, in a scrambled (hashed) form, with Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) and Google. We do this so that we can avoid showing our ads to past guests, and so the platforms can show our ads to new people with similar interests. The platforms match the scrambled data and do not give us any information about who matched. You can opt out at any time (see “Your choices and rights”).

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

• Our guides and drivers, only what they need for your pickup and class.
• Service providers that help us run the business: website hosting, email, Google (analytics and advertising) and Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp).
• Authorities, if the law requires it.

Some of these providers store data on servers outside Vietnam. They are required to protect it under their own security and privacy standards.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar tools from Google and Meta to understand how visitors use the site and to measure and improve our advertising. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking cookies will not stop you from booking.

Photos during your class

Our team sometimes takes photos and short videos during classes and may share them on our social media or in advertising. If you prefer not to appear, just tell your guide on the day, or message us later and we will remove the content that shows you.

How long we keep it

We keep booking information for as long as we need it to run your tour, answer questions and meet accounting and legal obligations, and in any case no longer than 3 years after your last booking, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
• correct information that is wrong;
• delete your information;
• stop using your information for thank-you messages, review requests or advertising;
• withdraw any consent you gave us.

To do any of this, email cocolocaltour@gmail.com or message us on WhatsApp. We will reply as soon as possible and no later than 30 days. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Keeping it safe

We limit access to your information to the people who need it and use the security tools provided by our service providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Children

Children are very welcome in our classes. We only collect children’s information (such as age or allergies) from their parent or guardian, and only to run the class safely.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
